What originally started as a message in Jeremey Popelka and Stephanie Trenchard's spam folder almost 7 years ago has grown into an annually recurring trip to Thailand for the glass-blowing duo. The leap of faith they took led to six weeks of classes for a group of Bangkok Glass employees and graduate students from the Faculty of Painting, Sculpture, and Graphic Arts at Silpakorn University in the Taling Chan District. The idea for a hot glass studio transformed Bangkok Glass Studio into the country’s first learning center for art glass. Jeremy and Stephanie would continue making annual trips to the campus to teach classes and expand the programs. This year however due to demands at their door county glass studio only Jeremey ventured abroad to teach.
